Tree

Getting over her

Amber .
Amber . Report

I tried to pick you up and hold you tight
But just like water,
You slipped through my fingers.

I tried to settle you down
But just like fire,
You burned the entire field.

I tried to touch every part of you
But just like the land,
You spread over thousands of miles and I couldn't cover them all.

I tried to forget you
But just like the wind,
You appeard and disappeared all at once and left me with the cold.

And I
Like a tree.
Grounded to your soil,
Burned by your flames,
Drifted by your water,
And bent by your wind.
Will grow up and move on,
As if you were never there.
